Preparations.
Before
embarking on this quest with Paint
Shop Pro you need to pack:
The 'Tool Options Window',
The 'Colour Palette'
The 'Layer Palette'.

You will find the icons you need in the tool bar at the top. Some of these options may have been activated already. By pointing the mouse cursor at an icon you make its' description appear. This way you may easily find out which function an option performs.
To be well prepared for your quest it helps to keep frequently used functions close at hand. You can achieve this by adding the right icons to your tool bar.
Click
View > ToolBars > Standard Toolbar
> Customize.
A popup window with all possible buttons (icons) will appear. First look at all possibilities in the left part. Then select those functions you find most appealing and move them to the right part. Be sure to select 'Paste new layer' and 'Merge layers' for you will certainly be using those during your adventures.
Now is a good time to be looking
at the Effects Toolbar.
Click
Effects Toolbar to see if you can find any interesting effects
you may want to be using. But you may do this later on if you prefer.
On this quest you will
be using
'Fur', 'Gaussian Blur', 'Spiky Halo', 'Rotating Mirror'
and 'Adjust Channel Mixer'.
